I started creating jewelry when I was 13 years old just as a fun hobby. My mom would sell my work to her coworkers so that I could continue to buy tools and materials and fund my new obsession. From about high school until I was 25, I didn't really make much jewelry except for occasional gifts on holidays and birthdays. After leaving my 9-5 job and getting ready to have my first kiddo, I decided to start a little side hustle doing the thing that I once enjoyed. Jewelry making. Thus, Ellie's Handcrafted Jewelry was born in 2019! I started with basic wire jewelry, but eventually got bored with the same old designs. So, I began to research other types of wire work and stumbled upon wire weaving. It was love at first sight. I immediately ordered cabochons and wire and started in on creating my first pieces. In 2021, I had been weaving for a couple years and selling some of my pieces, but was having other jewelry makers reach out through my Youtube channel asking that I would teach them. And so, I pivoted again and now am teaching full time. It has been such an incredible adventure and I'm still enjoying every step of the way!
